15 Year Old Carlo Acutis Could Become The First Millennial Saint

Teenager who died of leukemia set to become saint

15-year-old Carlo Acutis could become the first millennial saint

Acutis, who died in 2006, is often called the patron saint of the internet among Roman Catholics.

Fifteen-year-old Carlo Acutis died within a week of being diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia in 2006. He could become the first millennial saint after Pope Francis recognized a second miracle attributed to him.

Acutis was born in London but grew up in Milan, where he was known for his piety and his love of technology. He used his computer skills to create a website about miracles and Eucharistic miracles.

Acutis died in Monza, Italy, on October 12, 2006. He was beatified in 2020, and his cause for sainthood is now being considered by the Vatican.

If Acutis is canonized, he will become the first saint to have been born in the 21st century.
