SpaceX's Starship Makes Successful Launch and Landing

Fourth Test Flight Ends with Splashdown in Indian Ocean

SpaceX's Starship rocket has returned to Earth on its fourth test flight, landing in the Indian Ocean. The flight ended one hour and six minutes after launch when Starship fired its three center Raptor engines for a soft landing.

Two Main Goals Achieved

There were two main goals for today's flight: to bring Starship's first-stage booster known as Super Heavy down for a soft landing and to test the spacecraft's heat shield during re-entry. Both goals were achieved.

SpaceX confirmed splashdown just before 10:00 AM ET. The test marks a major success for SpaceX as it works towards developing Starship into a fully reusable spacecraft capable of carrying humans and cargo to the Moon and Mars.
