Agha Salman Shines with Match-Winning Knock

Pakistan secured a thrilling seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the Super Four clash of the Asia Cup 2023 on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

Chasing a modest target of 194, Pakistan rode on a match-winning half-century from Agha Salman and a solid opening partnership to seal the victory with ease.

Salman's Heroics

Salman, who came into bat at number five, played an exceptional knock of 60 runs off 43 deliveries, hitting five boundaries and two sixes.

His innings included a crucial 40-run partnership with Mohammad Rizwan (29) for the third wicket, which laid the foundation for Pakistan's victory.

Solid Start

Earlier, Pakistan's openers, Babar Azam (30) and Fakhar Zaman (20), provided a solid start, adding 49 runs for the first wicket.

Azam, the Pakistan captain, was dismissed by Shakib Al Hasan, while Hasan Ali removed Zaman.

Bangladesh's Innings

Bangladesh, who were put into bat first, struggled to build substantial partnerships.

Mushfiqur Rahim top-scored with 43 runs, while Afif Hossain contributed 35.

Haris Rauf was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan, finishing with figures of 2/30.
